Good news! Carnations, chrysanthemums, and gerberas are super long-lasting. With proper care, your bouquet can stay fresh for up to two weeks!
Trend alert:
Simple, natural wrapping is hot!
Avoid over-packaging, let the flowers shine.
Flower Code: The Art of a Beautiful Bouquet
Creating a bouquet is like mixing magic! Colours, textures, and shapes all come together to form something stunning. The Bloomroom team is going to show you how to create a stylish and eye-catching bouquet using our core products; carnations, roses, gerberas, chrysanthemums, and limonium. Whether you’re a florist or specialist, this guide will help you make something truly special.
Step 1: Pick Your Colours and Flowers
Before you start, decide on the mood you want for your bouquet:
Romantic and soft?
Bright and cheerful?
Warm and cozy?
Here’s what you’ll need:
Roses – Elegant and expressive.
Carnations – Light and textured.
Gerberas – Bold and full of energy.
Chrysanthemums – Soft and long-lasting.
Limonium – Delicate and airy.
Tip: Carnations and gerberas are great as a base because they hold their shape well, while roses and chrysanthemums add depth and layers.
Step 2: Prep Your Flowers
Before arranging, make sure your flowers are ready to last!
Remove lower leaves (prevent them from decaying in the water).
Cut stems at a 45° angle and put them in water, for at least an hour.
Using gerberas, place them on a grid to help them soak up water.
This little prep step makes a big difference in keeping your bouquet fresh!
Step 5. Keep it fresh
Make your bouquet last longer with these easy-care tips:
Change the water every two days.
Trim the stems slightly to help them absorb water.
Keep away from fruit! (Fruits release ethylene, which makes flowers wilt faster.)
Avoid direct sunlight and sudden temperature changes.
Step 3: The Spiral Technique
The spiral technique gives your bouquet a natural, flowing look.
Start with the center flowers - carnations and roses set the height.
Rotate as you go – Add gerberas and chrysanthemums at different levels for a balanced effect.
Fill the gaps – Use limonium for a light, airy touch.
Add greenery – Eucalyptus or other leaves create depth and texture.
Pro tip: Leave small gaps between flowers! A slightly “loose” bouquet looks more natural and elegant than one packed too tightly.
Step 4: Secure and Wrap
Once your bouquet is looking great, it’s time to finish it off.
Tie it up – Use floral tape or twine to keep everything in place.
Go minimal with wrapping – Try kraft paper, soft fabric, or even leave it unwrapped for a modern look.
Keeping it fresh? – If it’s a gift, add a little water ampoule to keep the flowers hydrated.
